CHURCH OF SAN MIGUEL IN TRIGUEROS DEL VALLE

The restoration project commissioned by the Government of Castilla y León (Junta de Castilla y León) aimed the consolidation of Romanic vaults and the reform of roofs, separating each body, freeing the apse of external additives and moving the Baroque altarpiece, making legible the constructive evolution and leaving view the cornice and corbels of the Romanesque temple. The works also included the cleaning, jointing and recovery of the walls, the sanitation of the north wall for ventilation to remove interiors humidities; finally the reposition and sanitation of the Romanic façade which recover its relevance.
Inside improvements are made in order to help to understand the monument highlighting the value on the initial Romanic character and subsequent refurbishments. The Romanic stone and the central nave are cleaned and the rendering and base coating are recovered in the baroque bodies. Also the pavements are recovered differentiating the various naves.
