IBIZA CITY WALLS MASTER PLAN

Ibiza city walls Master Plan, promoted by the city council of Ibiza and Ibiza consortium World Heritage, is really the merger of three documents. An interdisciplinary study of documentation and diagnosis of the wall, a plan of conservation and restoration of the monuments and a urban plan for the protection of the wall and its surroundings inserted into the urban planning of the historic centre of Ibiza city. The document was ordered by the city council of Ibiza from the declaration of the wall as World Heritage and has been approved by the authorities of Historical Heritage and Urbanism. The mixed nature of the plan has allowed the writing team posed from the beginning a conditional relationship between the study methodology and the methodology of intervention which was defined from its interdisciplinary status and its specific adequacy to the building. The documentation and diagnostic study has included a planimetric survey specifically aimed to interpret geometric keys of the path, a large documental study of historical sources with four volumes with hundreds of unpublished documents and an archaeological reading and a coordinated materials characterization.
